And so it goes.

Just finished book 5 of Codex Alera by Jim Butcher. Kind of more of the same. There’s nothing really too terribly new to say about this one that I haven’t already said, so I’ll hit those points quick and let you be on your way:

  • We finally leave the continent to travel to Canea.
  • In the realm of Alera, we principally follow Amara and Bernard as they sneak behind enemy lines to find secrets and mess things up.
  • Up at the shieldwall, Isana challenges a high lord to the juris macto and doesn’t die in the process.
  • And the Vord are back and in full effect. Those mofos are every where.

Other than that, not much to see here. This is a good book. Not may favorite in the series because the main action seems to take place with side characters while the main characters are on side quests. Makes for a different read. In the last book, everything comes to a head, so hopefully I’ll have more to say. Or not. 6 books in one series? Not much is going to be all that different, unless you look at something like the Harry Potter series.
